Mahindra Thar Armada Spied With New Features

Expected To get features like:

• ADAS Level 2 suite
• Panoramic sunroof
• All LED Lighting
• Digital Driver’s Console

It’s no secret that the Thar five-door launch is right around the corner and now more spy images have surfaced recently, revealing some more details about it. Beyond the tweaked exterior design and cabin updates, Mahindra have also added safety functions like an ADAS Level 2 suite and might sport a dual-panel or a panoramic sunroof.

Expected Features:

The ADAS suite will consist of functions like adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and much more. 

The five-door Thar will be the first S.U.V. in its class to sport a panoramic sunroof as its two chief rivals the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny do not even offer a single-panel sunroof.

Engines On Offer:

The five-door will retain the three engines already available in the current Thar. For the four-wheel-drive equipped variants it will be paired with either the 2.2-litre diesel or the 2-litre petrol. The diesel has an output of 130 HP and 300 N-m while the petrol produces 150 HP and 300 N-m. There will also be an affordable rear-wheel-drive model which will have a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 117 HP and 300 N-m, available only with a six-speed manual transmission. The other two versions will get the option of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter. 

Design Changes:

The Thar Armada will get all-new LED lighting with an updated front grille along with revised front and rear bumpers. The mid trims will sport 18-inch alloy wheels while the top models will get 19-inch premium diamond-cut alloy wheels. Based on the spy images, there’s a 10.25-inch infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster. There will also be front and rear armrests with rear ac vents.
