Mahindra To Launch Automatic Version Of The XUV700 MX Variant

Mahindra to yet again expand its flagship SUVs’ variant spread by introducing an automatic transmission option in the base MX version. The new offering will be available only with the petrol engine.

The MX variant had recently received a seven-seater version too with the diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Now with this update the five-seater petrol version of the MX trim will receive the option of an automatic transmission.

Currently, the manual version of the XUV700 MX with a petrol engine is priced at ₹13.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) and the upcoming automatic variant is anticipated to be priced approximately ₹1.80 Lakh higher.

The MX is powered by a 2.0-Litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine with 195 HP and 380 N-m of torque. Upon launch, it will be the most affordable variant in the XUV700 lineup to have an automatic transmission option.

The move is part of Mahindra’s strategy to enhance the appeal of the XUV700 which already has several newly launched variants such as the AX5 Select, the MX 7-seater and the Blaze Edition. By giving an automatic gearbox in the MX variant, Mahindra aims to target a larger range of consumers.
