New Skoda Kodiaq Spotted Testing On Indian Roads!

Skoda’s latest generation of the Kodiaq, which was launched globally last year, has been seen testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Along with the Kodiaq, Skoda will also launch the new-gen Superb.

The flagship SUV is based on the MQB platform. The new Kodiaq appears more mature and imposing than its predecessor, with a noticeable increase in size.

Skoda Kodiaq — Exterior

The Kodiaq retains the quintessential Skoda design, especially at the front with its sharp headlights and signature butterfly grille. The side profile features larger alloy wheels and a silver trim for the C-pillar, while the rear boasts connected taillights and a redesigned bumper.

Skoda Kodiaq — Interior

The interior has been completely revamped with premium materials and additional features. Notable features include power-adjustable seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a 13-inch infotainment system.

Skoda Kodiaq — Powertrain Options

Globally, Skoda is offering a new plug-in hybrid petrol engine for the Kodiaq. This 204 HP unit claims a 100 km electric-only range. Engine options include:

• 1.5-litre TSI
• 2.0-litre TSI
• 2.0-litre TDI

For the Indian market, Skoda is expected to offer only the 2.0L TSI engine at launch.

Skoda Kodiaq — Competition And Expected Launch

The new Skoda Kodiaq will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tiguan, and MG Gloster. The expected launch in India is around the festive season, with an anticipated price of ₹40 lakhs (ex-showroom).
