Porsche has officially introduced the third-generation Panamera in India, marking a significant upgrade in its luxury sedan lineup. Priced from Rs 1.70 crore (ex-showroom), the 2024 Panamera brings a blend of refined aesthetics, advanced features, and enhanced performance to Indian roads.
The new Panamera is equipped with a robust 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, generating 348 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This represents a power increase of 23 bhp and 50 Nm compared to its predecessor. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, allowing the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 272 km/h.
Porsche has made several subtle yet impactful design updates to the Panamera. The exterior features include redesigned Matrix LED headlights, a new air intake above the license plate, and revamped window lines. Inside, the Panamera draws inspiration from Porsche’s Taycan and Cayenne models, featuring a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger display.
The interior also boasts a gear selector relocated next to the steering wheel, enhancing driver convenience. The car is fitted with 8-way electrically adjustable seats, six airbags, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with Navigation, smartphone integration, and voice command capabilities.
The 2024 Panamera comes standard with a dual-chamber two-valve air suspension system, coupled with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which is said to ensure a balance between comfort and sporty handling by independently controlling the rebound and compression stages of the damper.
The third-generation Panamera was globally unveiled in Shanghai last year and has now made its way to India with immediate availability for deliveries. While the current model focuses on a V6 engine, Porsche is expected to introduce more powerful V8 variants in the Indian market in the near future.
